Hello, and welcome to my blog. For some quick background, I will let you know about the exchange itself. Jenna is from Durban South Africa, and for six weeks this past winter, she came and stayed with my family and I. She came to school with me, tried skiing for the first time, saw snow for the first time, and spent a weekend in New York City. Jenna experienced many amazing things that she never would have if she had stayed in SA, and I hope to return having experienced amazing, out of the ordinary things as well. When I am in South Africa, I will be living with Jenna, her mother (Mandy), her father (Steve), and her two younger sisters (Lydia and Zoe). I will visit Hermanus, a small beach community where Jenna’s grandparents live, Cape Town, Durban, and a safari game reserve. As I think about my upcoming travels, I feel excitement and nervousness. I am excited for exploring Cape Town, and meeting Jenna’s friends, but nervousness for my flights, for I have never flown alone. I look forward to my adventures, and I am excited to share them with you all!
